Prayer and Bible Study Group

This group meets regularly in the Church on Tuesday evening from 7.30 to 9pm.

The first part of the evening is devoted to worship and then to prayer. The prayer is wide ranging starting with Hagley Free Church and its members, widening to the locality, then the UK, the UK Church and Government, world issues and particularly persecuted Christians. In all things we pray for God’s Kingdom to be established and His will be done here on earth as in Heaven, and for a spiritual revival in the Church and nation.

The second part of the evening is devoted to an interactive Bible Study. Mostly this involves working through a particular Book in the Bible with cross references to other Bible passages, but sometimes we follow through on a particular topic. In all instances we seek to discern what God is saying to us in relation to the here and now and the future.

Badminton Club

Church records suggest that a badminton club started soon after the hall was opened in 1925 or 1926.   Chairs have to be lifted onto the stage to enable games to be played and the room is not quite wide or high enough.   Nevertheless on most Tuesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.00 p.m. a group, ranging from teenagers to 70 plus, enjoys some exercise and camaraderie.

Hand of Friendship

The Hand of Friendship is a lunch club for Senior Citizens provided by a band of willing volunteers and meets each week on Thursday. Our members arrive at 11.00 am. They have tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival and later enjoy a hot, freshly prepared two course meal costing £3. They leave around 1.15 pm

Many members use the 'Dial a Ride' bus service which is provided by the Parish council. If you have a current bus pass the charge is £1.30 per journey.

Each week we have a Sales table manned faithfully by two of our very enthusiastic ladies. Proceeds from this enable us to enjoy a fish and chip lunch and extras at Christmas time and special occasions.

In August we enjoy an  annual coach outing into the glorious Worcestershire countryside whilst Haybridge school choir and orchestra delight us with their music at Christmas.

Mothers and Toddlers

Mothers and Toddlers meet each Wednesday in term time, as we have for the past 25 years.  We are a happy bunch - mothers, some fathers, grandparents, and a few childminders, regularly come along with their children, whose ages range from birth to 4 years. Admission charge is £2 per family.

We provide a good, varied range of toys and activities e.g. puzzles, books, play dough, crayons, paints, home corner, large building bricks, dressing up clothes, sit and ride toys, small soft toys suitable for very young children.

The children learn to play together, to share, and to socialise with each other. The mothers benefit, too. While their young ones are happily and gainfully occupied, they can relax, enjoy the company of other mothers, make friends and share problems and experiences.

The children play freely for an hour, during which time we serve drinks and biscuits. We then clear the toys away, and have a happy sing song, which is enjoyed by all.

We take the children and their mums into Church from time to time e.g. Harvest, Christmas --and invite them to other suitable Church services.
