REV.TIM
We’ve come out of the seasons of Christmastide and Epiphany. We’re now into what is traditionally called the “temporal season” or “ordinary time” in the Church calendar. The next season in the Christian year is Lent which comes at the time when the earth is waking from its winter sleep, bursting with new life and full of signs of future hope. This period, which starts with Ash Wednesday, is of great importance, enabling
Christians to prepare themselves for Easter, travelling the journey along with Jesus to the Cross. It may be hard, we may be shaken in our assumptions but it will be worth it. For as we grow in knowledge and love of Him, we see that God’s love is offered to all who welcome the Gospel. Moreover, the Church is a community united to the Lord, not by duty, but by love. Therefore, “Everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Philippians ch.3, v.8). Love in His Name and service.
CARD FOR AMELIA
Amelia is a brave and inspiring girl who is fighting an aggressive form of cancer. She is turning 8 years old and she would love to receive 8,000 birthday cards. Her family and friends are reaching out to the community to help achieve this dream for what may be her last birthday. Cards are on the piano in the church. Please take one and write a simple message saying happy birthday and who it`s from. You can leave the cards in the church, church office or letter box.
Thank you so much for your support.
